Step1 : How to Install signal app on Android?

 

Just open the Google Play Store on your Android device. And search the signal application on search bar. Then install the signal application on your device. And run the application, once the signal application get downloaded.

Step 2 :How to Register yourself on signal?

After installing the application from play store. Give permission to signal application to access your contact information. And register with Signal application through your phone number.

 

Just click on continue button and give access to signal application to your contact. And if you deny this option right now. Signal will ask for them later on.

After granting access to contact. The next page will ask you to type your Mobile Number and click on "Register".

After you type the number on box. Click on the next button. And you have two options to verify (a) Through a call verification (b) the most popular one via SMS verification.

It will auto verify the SMS code. And you need to pick-up call if you have chosen another option.

Step 3 : How to Create Profile name and pic.?

After verification of your device number. You will get to this following screen. Where you need to create profile name and pic. The choosen profile name and pic will be shown to any contacts who you have saved in your address book. While you initiate new chat or either you allow particular contact or group to see this information. Enter your Name and Profile pic and click on Next button.

 

Step 4 : Use Signal as default 

After step 3 i.e. choosing Avatar and profile name, you will move on to the following screen.

You can chose to use the signal application as default messaging application. This will help you to view your SMS as well as signal messages at one place.

Note:

The point to watch out here. If you choose signal as primary messaging app on your device.

The chat sent to person who is not a user of signal.

Then the sent message/chat to that particular person will not be encrypted one.

 Ready to Use signal :-

You are ready to use signal application now.

In order to get started with signal application your contacts must have signal app installed on their device. Otherwise the messages and call made by you to one of your contact will be the Normal one (i.e. not encrypted).

And signal shows you the contact list that are available in signal application. And to provide you this data they download this data from your contact on their servers which is deleted immediately.

Direction to send encrypted messages

Before we know about how you can send encrypted message on Signal. You must be aware of this thing that is, to get notifications on your Device. When you receive new messages.

Signal uses collaboration with Google on Android and Apple on the iOS. This means this company have access to your contact information about who is receipent of message and when he/she received the messages.

Tap on the pencil button to start a new chat.

You will see the following screen which so ever is using the signal application on your contact list. I am not showing you whole contact list of mine this is just for example.

You can also send text to the non signal user by searching their contact number on search bar.

You can see the note "signal message" on chat box. This can be seen with the users, which are currently registered with the signal application on your contact list.

You can too send messages to the contact user who is not using signal app. The procedure is just type the phone number on search box.

And then send normal SMS message to the users through your signal app. But, This message isn't encrypted one.

How to make encrypted calls on Signal app?

To make encrypted calls on signal app you select the person with whom you want to initiate/start voice call. Then just tap on the phone 📞 logo button to start voice call with him/her.

The voice call is totally encrypted, As once you get connected with the desired user on voice call.

How to start encrypted video call?

 

The answer to this is also very simple and almost same to the voice call procedure.

Just you need to tap on video icon left to the phone call icon. And give access to camera and mic.

And, now you are ready to share your video screen with your friend.

How to form new group and start encrypted chats?

To create a new group. You need to click on three dots which is placed at top right corner of your mobile screen.

You will get option of creating new group. Click on New group. You have option to choose Avatar for group and add participants.

After choosing a suitable name and profile image for your Group. Click on 'right' mark to form new group.

And now you can chats with your fellow friends with full privacy safety. Even you have feature to mute group messages if you feel like it's too distracting for you.

You can edit the group name and icon even after it get formed. And the process is quite easy like Whatsapp.
